Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh is a Pakistani politician who is a member-elect of the National Assembly of Pakistan.
Mr. Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh and Engineer Said Mahmood are the two sponsors of the sugar mills project.
Mr. Yaqoob is a successful businessman, a recognized individual in the industry of logistics and the Principal Owner of Pyramid Logistics Private Limited. He is involved in the import of poultry products from USA and supplying it to the Afghanistan market through transit trade. He also imports refined sugar form Brazil and supplies it to Afghanistan and CIS countries. Whereas, Engr. Said is the owner of Haris Enterprises and also the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He exports about 80,000 tonnes of cement to Afghanistan and CIS countries monthly and is a big trader of cotton from Uzbekistan to Pakistan and neighboring countries. They also deal in various other commodities and food related items in the CIS countries and Afghanistan.
He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from Constituency NA-39 (Dera Ismail Khan-II) in Pakistani general election, 2018. He received 79672 votes and defeated Fazal-ur-Rehman.
Sheikh Yaqoob Views After Win Na-39 Seat Against Fazal ur Rehman
Sheikh Yaqoob said all the promises and commitments he had made with the people during his electioneering campaign would be fulfilled according to the wishes of the people of the area.
“The people on my constituency had reposed confidence in me and I would take steps and utilize allavailable resources to redress the problem being faced by the people in his area,” Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh, who defeated veteran politician Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman with a record margin of votes.
“The election is now past and we have to work hard so that to fulfill the expectations of the people by ensuring provision of electricity, clean drinking water, gas, education to the children and introducing good healthcare facilities.
He said PTI slogan of change would be proved in practical. Steps would also be taken against corruption so that to ensure transparency, merits in all sections. “It would only be possible so that we could work with full devotion and commitment,” he added.
In the socio-economic development of Dera Ismail Khan, the role of traders could not be denied. He also urged the local traders to come and join hands by giving him their respective suggestions so that we can collectively redress ways and means to map out good future for our younger generation.
